For first time since 2018-19, adoptions cross 4000-mark
In 2022-23, the total number of adoptions stood at 3,441, up from 3,405 in the previous financial year. Data collated by Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), under the ministry of women and child development, show that of the 4,009 adoptions in 2023-24, 449 were inter-country adoptions.
