“I don’t allow it to get to me,” says Taapsee Pannu on the toxicity of social media

Taapsee Pannu who is every active on social media feels it has lately become very toxic. “Social media gives everyone a certain power which not everyone is equipped to handle sensibly. A lot of them use it the wrong way.”

She feels the freedom for free-speech is being misused. “Since it’s a free country anyone can say anything, and the limits of how far one can go are not specified.”

She tries not to react to the trolls. “But I guess it’s human to get provoked. Most of the time I don’t allow myself to get provoked. The alarming thing is, there’s so much of the toxicity one just gets used to it and immune to. I don’t know whom it’s more unfortunate for that I’ve gotten so used to the toxicity that it doesn’t affect me anymore.”

The rise of the toxic troll tribe would be amusing it were not so tragic. “I just feel like laughing sometimes at the whole circus. But then it is so sad and strange that people have so much bitterness in them and they are living with the bitterness all the time.”

Taapsee’s family does get affected by all the negativity. “It does affect them because they are not part of the entertainment industry. They are not used to it. But it is a part of my life and they will have to get used to it. I have had conversations with my family on this matter.”

The trick is to not allow the attack to govern your life. “I won’t change because of the trolls. If I change it will be because of my own intrinsic process of growth and not because of some pathetic troll in his or her dingy corner venting spleen. No, I won’t change because of them. It only makes me stronger more determined to stand up for what I believe in.”

Taapsee feels the trolls are after you only when your voice counts. “Somewhere my voice counts. I guess I do command a certain power and influence. That’s why they want to shut me down. I don’t get triggered easily. When I do I don’t stoop down to the level of the troll. I will never lose my dignity in replying. That’s the basic difference between me and the troll.”

Just like the celebrated original which broke new ground, Looop Lapeta promises a new-age, millennial language of story-telling. Taapsee continues to write her own rules as an artist, and Looop Lapeta is an edgy, new space for the powerhouse actor, who has been paired opposite the accomplished Tahir Raj Bhasin for the first time.

As the drama-comedy nears the completion and gears for a 2021 release, the makers have put out her first look. Donning a never-seen-before avatar, Taapsee is looking chic, hip, and trendy in this image.

Helmed by ad filmmaker Aakash Bhatia, Looop Lapeta is being produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment (Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar), and Aayush Maheshwari.

Mumbai Court issues summons to Kangana Ranaut in Javed Akhtar defamation case

Mumbai Court, on February 1, issued summons to Kangana Ranaut after the city police informed it as an offence of defamation, in a case filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar.

In December 2020, an Andheri magistrate directed the Juhu Police to hold an inquiry into the complaint filed by Akhtar in the court in November, last year. On Monday, February 1, the police submitted their report citing the offences of the allegation made by the complainant need further investigation.

Following the report, Magistrate RR Khan issued summons to Kangana Ranaut. The matter will be heard in court on March 1.

Javed Akhtar filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut following an interview given by her to the news channel Republic TV. According to reports, Ranaut's statements hurt Akhtar's reputation. The veteran lyricist claimed that his name has been unnecessarily dragged in connection to the unfortunate death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Badhaai Do is a part of the franchise Badhaai Ho that was a complete hit at the box office for its rib-tickling, entertaining and unconventional storyline. Junglee Pictures announced Badhaai Do starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar — a fresh jodi on screen and both of them will be seen in completely different avatars.

The film, Badhaai Do is produced by Junglee Pictures, helmed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and written by Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary.

But, what grabbed our attention was her expensive bag. She was carrying GG Marmont mini round shoulder bag which made in matelassé chevron leather with a heart on the back, finished with a vintage effect. It is worth $1,390 (Rs. 1,01,631.93)

Currently, Alia Bhatt is working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi which is based on Husain Zaidi's popular book 'Mafia Queens'. She has her multi starrer Brahmastra lined up next, directed by her close pal Ayan Mukerji, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.

The actress will also star in RRR helmed by S.S. Rajamouli, also starring South superstars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan with guest appearance from Ajay Devgn.
