Coronavirus outbreak: WHO Director General nominates Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra for 'safe hands' challenge

Some days back, the World Health Organisation declared the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic. While Governments across the world take best possible steps to tackle its spread, WHO is also repeatedly emphasising on personal hygiene as the most primary tool to keep oneself away from being infected. WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has introduced a safe hands challenge on Twitter, and has been nominating several celebrities for the same.

Among others, he also nominated Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. As part of the challenge, they would need to share a video of themselves, washing their hands. This is to raise awareness on the importance of washing your hands frequently in order to stay safe. "I now nominate @deepikapadukone @priyankachopra @Schwarzenegger @CTurlington to take the #SafeHands challenge by sharing their video & calling on at least another 3 people to join us! Together, we can beat #COVID19," the tweet read.

However, Deepika and Priyanka are yet to respond to the challenge.

Meanwhile, they both, in their individual ways, have urged everyone to stay safe. We earlier came across Priyanka's post on greeting people with a Namaste instead of a hand-shake to avoid physical touch, while Deepika was on a cleaning spree!
