Actor Dhanush is currently looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram. The film will be skipping its theatrical release and will be available on Netflix from June 18. The film was slated to release in theatres this year. But owing to the pandemic, the makers decided to take the digital route.
The audio launch of the film took place on June 7. On the special occasion, for the first time, actor Dhanush attended a Twitter Space session. Director Karthik Subbaraj, composer Santhosh Narayan along with the singers and lyricist were also a part of the spaces which was held on Monday night.
Dhanush, who is currently shooting for the Netflix original The Gray Man, joined the session from the US. Speaking about the release of the film, he said, “It feels like I am waiting for a long time for the release of Jagame Thandhiram. I am quite disappointed as the film could have released in better circumstances. But, I am feeling okay that the film is releasing on Netflix. It could reach a wide audience and could offer some respite during such distressing times.”
Dhanush who will be seen playing the role of a gangster named Surili said, “I love the character so much that I always ask Karthik Subbaraj to make a sequel. I am confident that everyone will like the film.”
Directed By Karthik Subbaraj, Jagame Thandiram is a gangster film set in Madurai and London Produced by Sashikanth under Y Not Studios, the film stars Dhanush, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo, Joju George, Kalaiyarasna, and others.
