One of the biggest strengths of Mirzapur series are its characters. The writers have fleshed them out very well and almost all of them get a chance to mouth sharp and acidic one-liners that further add to their impact. A few of them like Guddu (Ali Fazal), Munna (Divyenndu), Kaleen Bhaiyya (Pankaj Tripathi) and Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma) obviously take the cake. However, a few characters in season 2 really stood out rather unpredictably. One didn’t really expect much from them or that they’ll do such impressive deeds. Bollywood Hungama in this feature presents five of our favourite characters in this regard from Mirzapur 2. The first two were introduced in the second season.
1. Doctor (played by Dibyendu Bhattacharya)
His name was never revealed in the show but he was rocking from the first frame, even providing comic relief in adequate doses. The poor chap got smothered by Guddu in his entry scene and was quite unfairly treated. Yet, he helped Guddu and his gang in escaping and even provided them refuge in his residence. Sadly, he had to pay a heavy price for it.
2. Robin (played by Priyanshu Painyuli)
Here’s another character that was funny and won hearts right from his entry. His streetsmart ways, mystery about his mother and of course his takiya kalaam “Yeh bhi theek hai” added to his aura. How his character pans out and whether he manages to take his relationship with Dimpy (Harshita Shekhar Gaur) ahead will be one of the things to watch out for in Mirzapur 3.
3. Beena (played by Rasika Dugal)
The first part ended with her character being in a much harrowed state. But she bounces back in season 2 and how! She knew she can’t directly confront Satyanand Tripathi (Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Hence, she used her charm and wisdom to keep the threat in check. She also joined hands with Guddu and Golu and helped them in destroying the gun factory. And finally, her wish to kill Satyanand literally fell in her lap in the climax. She also managed to pave the way for her newborn son to become the ‘King of Mirzapur’.
4. Zarina (played by Anangsha Biswas)
She seemed like someone who existed in the series only for glamour quotient. But in season 2, her role was very crucial. The way she plotted the downfall of CM J P Yadav (Pramod Pathak) was clap worthy.
5. B*****waale chacha (played by Hemant Kapadiya)
We simply didn’t expect him in Season 2 at all as he seemed to be one of the junior artistes. However, the way Munna addressed him as ‘b*****waale chacha’ became one of the most memorable moments of Mirzapur season 1. And as luck would have it, his part lent itself to the script organically. The way he stood up single-handedly against Munna was praiseworthy. Also, his brief monologue before his demise enhanced the impact.
