Bollywood actors Govinda and Shakti Kapoor recently appeared as guests on the recent episode of singing reality show Indian Idol 12. The duo was taken down the memory lane with the contestants singing their hit songs from the 90s.
During the episode, contestant Nihal Tauro performed to the song ‘Main Toh raste se jaa raha tha’ from the film Coolie No. 1 that was released in 1995. After the performance, Govinda said, “When I was at my peak time, 15-16 hit songs of mine were written by me. I had warned the lyricists that one day I will reveal this truth.”
Later on, Govinda also revealed that his famous Deewana Mastana dialogue was written by him. Shakti Kapoor also hopped on to the revelation bandwagon and revealed that the tone of his Raja Babu character Nandu was suggested to him by Govinda. The character is famous even today and he said that he owes it to Govinda.
