Actor/Producer John Abraham who is looking forward to the theatrical release of his film Mumbai Saga recently said that he has no respect for the award shows. He referred to them as a circus and says that he prefers to keep a distance from such events.
Talking to a news agency, John said that it is comical to see actors dance and then collect awards and make funny jokes. However, he is aware that people who participate in such events do not view it like him.
John further said that what the others are doing is not necessarily wrong but neither is he. He said that he is on the other side of the fence. The actor said that he does not go to these functions and feels that it will be like a joker going to a circus and that it will be demeaning and he doesn't wish to do it.
Earlier he had revealed that when there was talk of Mumbai Saga releasing on Amazon Prime Video he had a chat with producer Bhushan Kumar and director Sanjay Gupta. The actor feels that only artists who do not have confidence in their films ‘dump’ it on OTT platforms.
Mumbai Saga also stars Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Gulshan Grover, Prateik Babbar and others. The film will hit the theatres on March 19.
