Collegium sends names to govt for appointment as HC judges

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended to the Centre names of eight persons for appointment as judges in five different high courts. The names included that of judicial officer Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui who, if cleared by the Centre, would be the first woman from the ST community to become a judge of Manipur HC. The collegium comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph on Monday also recommended the names of two other women. Via Times of India https://ift.tt/NvbdoWO
