Nuclear sector set to power Indian space missions: Isro chief
India's nuclear sector will power future Indian space missions through nuclear propulsion. Isro chairman S Somanath revealed plans for collaboration with the department of atomic energy. Radioisotope heating units in Chandrayaan-3's propulsion module worked flawlessly, generating enthusiasm. The Bharatiya Antariksh Station, an international platform for collaborative research, will be ready by 2028. Isro is also developing a moonbase habitat at a lower cost. Other upcoming missions include Xposat for studying Black Holes and neutron stars, Aditya-L1's mission to the Sun, a satellite for G20 countries, and plans for reusable rockets and space tourism.
