Power ministry issues alert over grid safety ahead of TU strike
The power ministry on Sunday alerted the Central Electricity Authority, grid monitors, central generation companies and states on possible threat to grid security and stability as well as supply of power during the three-day countrywide strike called by trade unions from Monday. The alert is prompted by the fact that the grid is a sensitive operation and could be affected by sudden outage of supply or generation capacity. This may lead to blackouts in large areas.
