Quashing quota in promotion may lead to unrest: Govt to SC

The Centre on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that if its policy to grant reservation in promotion to SCs/STs employees is quashed then it may lead to “employee unrest” as more than four and half lakh staff have been given promotion under the policy during 2007 to 2020 and any adverse order could have serious and widespread implications.
