Parents employed to build road to village of U-17 soccer skipper

Gorratoli in the Maoist hotbed of Jharkhand's Gumla district has more than one reason to be indebted to its daughter Astam Oraon, currently captaining India in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. If it was the 17-year-old's exploits on the football field that got the road to the nondescript tribal village sanctioned, it was her parents' sweat that helped build the 2,380ft lifeline.
