Chief minister M K Stalin will be elected unopposed for a second term at the party general council meeting on Sunday. The meeting also assumes significance amid expectations among partymen about the elevation of Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi as one of the deputy general secretaries, after the post fell vacant owing to senior leader Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan quitting the party.
